Materials & Care
Each piece is constructed by hand using fine Italian crepe paper in varying weights, selected for its strength, flexibility, and ability to hold form.
Colour is built gradually using artist-grade materials, including watercolour, acrylic, and soft pastels. Surfaces are sealed where needed to add depth or a gentle sheen, and each piece is finished with a UV-resistant spray to help protect against fading. The materials used are chosen for their high lightfastness, allowing the work to retain its colour over time.
Foliage may also incorporate mulberry paper, adding variation in texture and structure.
Stems are formed from floral wire and wrapped in layers of paper. While they can be adjusted slightly, they are set with a considered shape in mind and are best left as arranged. Cutting stems is not recommended, as it may compromise the wrapped finish.
Framed works are set within painted wooden frames, finished by hand. As with any painted surface, care should be taken to avoid knocks or abrasion.
These are paper pieces, and should be treated accordingly. To preserve their colour and form, keep them out of direct sunlight and away from moisture or high humidity.
Dust may be removed occasionally using a soft, dry brush.
If any movement occurs during transit, stems and petals can be gently guided back into place by hand.
With quiet care, these pieces are made to last — holding their form and colour for years to come.
