A study of magnolia in branch form, interpreted in paper.
This stem captures the early movement of magnolia in bloom, with flowers held at different stages along a gently branching form. Each petal is shaped and coloured by hand, with soft tonal variation running from base to tip, giving the blooms a natural sense of depth and translucency.
The branch structure follows an irregular rhythm, with open flowers, partially unfurled blooms, and closed buds creating a quiet sense of progression.
Designed as a single stem, it can be placed in a simple vessel or gathered with others, allowing it to shift between a solitary study and part of a larger arrangement.
Created as a one-off botanical study, subtle variations in form and placement reflect the natural character of magnolia in early spring.
Freestanding within a vessel, it stands with a gentle height of approximately 44cm and a natural spread of around 25cm, suited to a shelf, mantel, or table.
Designed as a considered study of seasonal form, it brings a sense of early spring indoors — something to place, adjust, and live with over time.
